A progressive construction company has announced that they are going to transition towards full employee ownership.

Collingham-based Gusto Group said they were proud to announce the initiative that will give 180 employees the option to become shareholders.

The company said that the founders of Gusto Group, Steff and Jerome Wright were committed to shared success and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship.

"The move towards employee ownership reflects Gusto Group's unwavering dedication to inclusivity, collaboration, and the long-term prosperity of its workforce," said a company spokesman.

"By granting employees the opportunity to become shareholders, Gusto Group aims to build a stronger sense of unity, motivation, and accountability throughout the organisation."

The company also stated that they are committed to contributing to a sustainable future.

As part of its commitment to environmental stewardship, the company is in the process of becoming a certified B-Corp, a highly sought-after designation that recognises businesses with a strong focus on social and environmental responsibility.

This transition will bolster Gusto Group's efforts to reduce its carbon footprint, aiming to become a net-zero carbon company by 2030.

"We firmly believe that businesses should not solely measure success by profit margins, but also by the positive impact they create for

their employees, communities, and the planet," said company Chairman Steff Wright.

"By transitioning to employee ownership and pursuing B-Corp certification, we are aligning our business strategy with our values, ensuring that sustainability and shared prosperity are at the forefront of everything we do."

Gusto Group has a rich history of community engagement and is known for its Gusto Community Fund, which puts money back into local initiatives and charitable causes as chosen by each employee.

The company's commitment to corporate social responsibility has gained widespread recognition.
